It’s a sign
It is getting scarily close to the show opening. We have been really busy trying to get sponsorship for beer and a fridge with no luck from the corporates so we are going lo-fi. Um… anyone got a share house fridge and some home brew they wanna donate?
We would love to show some old skool skate videos too (which we have - yay) but we don’t want to show them on the hi-def ‘video art’ screen so a portable telly with one of those aerials made from a coathanger would be ace too.
The promo postcards have been approved and should be available next week - so if you are around firstdraft come and pick one up, they are lovely.
We have been having a great time stealing rubbish, erm I mean ‘sourcing art materials’ from local garbage bins. I’m sure anyone who has been in this situation knows the great rush you get when you find an awesome piece of cardboard and the ‘can-do’ attitude that suddenly appears when there is a perfect but massively heavy wooden palette out the back of someone’s shop. (Shout-out to Marky Marketing for the help carrying that bastard down the street). Also a big thanks to everyone who responded to the Facebook call-out for contributions to Friendship Island. I know it doesn’t make sense but it will when you see it. I knew there may be some kind of pattern forming with the answers but I didn’t expect that pattern to be a longing for free sex and the desire to live alone (most people’s idea of Utopia is either one or the other or both - I thought it was just me!). Bizarre!
So just to re-cap, here’s the new wish-list:
• portable telly with coathanger aerial
• home-brew
• beer fridge
